Horace L. Beattie Sr., a lifelong resident of Oaks, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Parkhouse Providence Pointe at age 89.? He was married to the late Kathryn (Hanrahan) Beattie who passed away in May of 2005.? He was a son the of late Samuel and Nora (Kilpatrick) Beattie.? After schooling, Horace served in the Army before returning to Oaks to work and raise a family.? He was a machinist at Synthane in Oaks and later at McCarter Iron Company of Norristown before retiring.?
Horace was a member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren and life member of Oaks Fire Company.? He is survived by three daughters: Kathryn B., wife of Robert Thomas, of Honeybrook, Edythe L., wife of David Gable, of Shunk and Patricia A. Beattie, of Oaks.? There are also six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.? In addition to his parents and wife, Horace was preceded in death by five brothers and his son, Horace L. Jr.?
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.? Officiating will be Horace's nephew, Rev.
