Horace M. Kircher Sr., 86, of Pottstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, in his residence. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Stanley C. Kircher Sr. and Florence (Stradling) Kircher.

Mr. Kircher was a security guard at Superior Tube, in Collegeville, for 26 years until his retirement. He served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He served in the European Theatre of Operations in Northern France, where he earned the Bronze Star building bridges under sniper fire.

Mr. Kircher is survived by his son, Horace M. "Bud" Kircher Jr., husband of Katharine Kircher, with whom he resided, sister Thelma, wife of Willard Hunsberger, of Spring City, and three grandchildren, Christopher D., husband of Sharon Kircher, Laura S., wife of Michael Kane, and Nathaniel H., husband of Jennifer Kircher. He was preceded in death by his sister, June Katlian and brothers, Stanley C. Kircher Jr. and William Kircher
