Howard R. Johnston, 73, of Royersford , PA passed away at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center on Monday, January 4, 2010 . He was the husband of the late Sylvia J. (Wade) Johnston , who died November 2008.

He was born in Batesville , AR , a son of the late Ernest and Oza (Hill) Johnston. He was a 1954 graduate of Royersford High School and Temple University Technical School . Howard also was a Navy Veteran.

Mr. Johnson was a life member of the Friendship and Liberty Fire Companies and Royersford VFW respectively and the Oatmeal Gang at Sunshine Caf?. He was also a Past President and Commissioner of Spring-Ford Babe Ruth League.

He is survived by three children: Jacqueline Johnston, of Philadelphia , Scott Johnston, of Phoenixville and Dave Johnston, of Pottstown ; a sister: Wande Feairheller of Royersford; grandchildren: Brianna, Megan, Taylor , Sarah and Anthony and great-grandchildren: Ethan and Faye. He was also predeceased by a sister, Virginia Adams.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 10 AM at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St. Royersford , PA. Officiating will be Rev. J. Rodney O'Donnell.
