Hubert N. Noon, age 81, husband of Donna M. (Rupp) Noon, of Mont Clare, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Born on July 21, 1942 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Mahoney) Noon.
Hubert was a graduate of Waynesville High School in Waynesville, MO. He honorably served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968, having been stationed in Tennessee, Virginia, California and Texas. He then worked as a communications technician at AT@T and retired after 33 years. His final career move was to Video Ray in Pottstown, PA from 2003-2020 building control panels for underwater surveillance cameras.
Hubert was a faithful member and volunteer for St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Phoenixville. He served as a driver for Mont Clare Fire Company, a Babe Ruth coach of the Red Sox in Phoenixville, and a member of the AOH - Officer Jack Duffy Division #6, Montgomery County, PA.
He had a deep passion for photography and classic cars. He cherished his 1934 Ford he had in the past and his current 1967 Mustang. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and recently completed their bucket list of visiting all 50 states, most of them by car. He was a fan of a variety of music and Philadelphia sports, enjoyed working in his yard while maintaining his summer garden. He was also a civil war history buff. Hubert was well known for telling jokes and stories, and at times the listener had to ask his wife if the stories were indeed actually true.
In addition to his wife Donna, Hubert is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Noon) Blair, wife of DJ Blair and Amy (Noon) Erickson; one granddaughter, Madeline Erickson, companion of Tyler Bornstad and daughter of the late John Erickson; one sister, Eileen Noon; a niece, Karin Law and nephew Shawn Noon; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Noon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. John Hutter. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM at the Church.
