Hugh Patrick McCann Sr., age 86, husband of the late Helen (Carr) McCann, of Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday morning, August 27, 2022 in the Manatawny Manor. Born on February 27, 1936 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Catherine (McCuen) and Hugh McCann.

He attended St. Joseph's University and had been employed as an estimator for many printing business. Finishing his career at National Label in Lafayette Hill.

In his younger years, Hugh was involved with the Boy Scouts, which is where he earned many awards and began his appreciation for nature and wildlife. He was an avid Fly fisherman and enjoyed hunting and canoeing. He and Helen traveled up and down the east coast camping in their travel trailer until settling at a permanent campground site at Ocean View, NJ. They enjoyed bird watching while traveling and especially in Cape May, NJ, keeping a record book of what birds they saw with their binoculars, which were kept with them while traveling.

Hugh was always involved with his grandchildren's many activities. Cheering them on from the sidelines or taking them on camping trips and nature walks.

Hugh is survived by two daughters: Kathleen M., wife of William Preston, of Collegeville and Patricia M., wife of Anthony Bergandino, of Audubon; son-in-law: Bret Wade; daughter-in-law: Cassandra McCann; twelve grandchildren: Billy Preston, Bob Preston, Natalie Preston, Dana Quinn, Chris Bergandino, Bret Wade II, Nick Wade, Liz Wade, Dan Wade, Patrick McCann, Walter McCann and Michael McCann; and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Hugh was preceded in death by children: Susan Wade and Hugh McCann Jr.; and brother: Ronald Anthony McCann.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hugh's name to Meals On Wheels, 1976 East High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
