Irene Jatu Walker, age 77, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 10, 1942 in Monrovia, Liberia, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Boima and Cecelia Harvey.
Irene loved traveling, shopping and spending time with her family. Her favorite place to visit was Paris, France where she spent some time as a young woman. She also enjoyed the 15 years she spent living in Phoenixville, PA.
She left Liberia after working several decades for the US Peace Corps. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be missed by many.
Irene is survived by her three daughters, Olga Williams, Brenetta Neal, and Ruth A. Walker; Three granddaughters; Domonique A. Merchant, Shemiah P. Walker and Irelia L. Walker; Two Grandsons, Tony A. Williams, and Brandon J. Williams; Two Great‑granddaughters, Mai'Leigha A. Walker and Au'Mariana D. Walker. She is also survived by her brother Rudolph Vinton.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Dunn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation for Irene on Saturday March 30, 2019 from 10:00AM‑11:00AM at the Campbell‑Ennis‑Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. The funeral ceremony will follow the calling time at 11:00AM. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
