Obituary

Irvin E. Wise Jr., age 85, loving husband of 62 years to Esther "Tekie" (Grealey) Wise, of Kimberton, PA passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 peacefully at home with his wife by his side. Born on Valley View Farm in Charlestown Township, he was a son of the late Irvin E. Sr. and Miriam (Walton) Wise.

Irv was very family oriented. His family was his whole life. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wise is survived by his children, Christine Wise, wife of John Favinger, Kathy, wife of Steven Krasley, Kenneth Wise and Luba Martyniak, David Wise Sr. and his fiancé Kathy Saville, Sally, wife of Ian Mansmann, and Suzanna, wife of William Derer III. Grandchildren Rita Biddle, wife of Matt Biddle, Lila Sollenberger, wife of Wes Sollenberger, Holly Favinger Das, Dave Wise Jr., and Timmy, Ben and Lilly Mansmann. Great grandchildren Gannon Derer, Keith and Annika Biddle, and Makayla Corle-Sollenberger. His extended family Gail Grealey, Wayne Wise, Robin Dermigny, wife of Michael Dermigny and sons Nolan and Aaron, Ted Root, Steve Smart and many nieces and nephews. His sisters, Ruth Arters, Myrtle Coale, and Joan Yerger. He was preceded in death by siblings, William, Robert, Arlene, Pauline, and Linda.

Irv worked as a young man at Showalter's Farm and Dairy, before retiring after 30 years from Pierce and Stevens Chemical in Kimberton. Through the years, he worked for Horace and Anna Wilson's Dairy Farm and Bevan's Lumber Yard, both in Kimberton. He also used all of his own machinery to do custom farming in past years. Irv operated a small firewood business, and enjoyed caring for his vegetable garden. When the kids were young he would take his family to Crystal Beach. For over thirty years he would take his family to Canada each summer, where he enjoyed fishing and relaxing. He would spend many afternoons listening to Johnny Cash. He was a Phillies fan when they were hot. He enjoyed family reunions, and family meals, where he would often be heard asking "What's to eat?" Irv was a faithful member of St. Peter's Pikeland United Church of Christ for many years, where he was a member of the Friday Morning Boys and a part of the Heifer Project International Mission.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at St. Peter's Pikeland United Church of Christ, 1193 Clover Mill Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425 on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Douglas E. Hanson. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Friends will be received at the Church from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Peter's Pikeland United Church of Christ at the above address. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
