Irvin M. Swavely, age 82, husband of Marion L. (Wiley) Swavely, of East Coventry , passed away March 5, 2008 , in the Pennsburg Manor.? Born in Amityville, he was a son of the late Nathan K. and Katie (Sheeler) Swavely.?

Mr. Swavely was a graduate of Amityville High School.? He served in the 4th Armored Div. of the US Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations.? He was also a steelworker at Bethlehem Steel, in Pottstown , from 1957-1979, for 22 years, then retired from Grace Mines in Robeson Twp.? He was a member of Coventry Church of the Brethren, former member of Harmonyville Church of the Brethren and also was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Swavely is survived by daughter Cheryl L. wife of Barney Wetzel, of Hamburg , son David L., husband of Donna Swavely of Pottstown , sister Anna Yerger, of Pidgeon Forge , Tennessee , brother Paul W. Swavely, of Boyertown, four grandchildren, Katelyn and Hannah Swavely, Melissa Dougherty and Jason Wetzel, and two great-grandchildren, Damian and Alexia.? He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Reinert, Elsie Graham, and Edna Swavely and brother Samuel W. Swavely.? ??????

His Funeral Service will be at Harmonyville Church of the Brethren, 2037 Harmonyville Road , Pottstown , PA 19465 on Monday at 11 AM .? Officiating will be the Rev. John C. Kolle.? Interment will be in Mt. Carmel U.M. Church Cemetery , Warwick .? Calling hours will be at the church on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Monday from 10 till time of service.?
