Isabel Gordon, age 89, wife of the late George Gordon III, died in Phoenixville, PA on Sunday, May 2. She was a 45 year resident of Glenbrook. Born in Port Chester, NY, Isabel was the daughter of the late James Ballingal Nicol and Hellen (Condie) Nicol of Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Upon graduation from Port Chester H.S. in 1937, she worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in NYC until after her marriage in 1949. Her husband's job required frequent transfers and the family lived in six cities before moving to Stamford. Isabel worked as a Library Media Aide for many years in the Stamford School System in various elementary schools including Franklin and Ryle. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford. She spent several weeks every summer at the family home in Northwood, NH.
She is survived by her three children, George Gordon IV and his wife Elizabeth Casqueiro of Washington D.C, James Gordon and his wife Donna, of Newton, MA and Deborah Wolk and her husband Thomas, of Chester Springs, PA; five grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
