Obituary

Jax Thorburn, age 8, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2021 in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born on November 6, 2012 in Paoli, he was a son of Meghan L. (English) and Brian L. Thorburn.

Jax was a third grade student at Schuylkill Elementary School who embodied a warrior spirit and lived life to its fullest everyday. He loved playing football, tie-dye creations, and making TikTok dance videos. Jax loved time spent with family in Avalon, NJ, where he especially enjoyed body surfing, fishing, mini-golf and going out for ice cream. He cherished the time with his friends when they could get ice cream or go mini-golfing. He enjoyed going to Nudy's for the "Jackson Special: two grilled cheeses without a pickle." Throughout everything, Jax always had a smile on his face. He was a shining light in everyone's eyes and spread his love to everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Jax is survived by his brother: Chase Michael Thorburn; maternal grandfather: Michael English, of Phoenixville; and paternal grandmother: Maureen Thorburn, of Clarks Green.
