This week, our world changed forever. We lost our son, brother, and friend, Jacob Robert Weeks. Jacob, known to many as "Jake the Rake", lost his battle to leukemia on Tuesday evening, June 20, 2017. Regardless of the outcome of his fight with cancer, he won his fight in life by facing down major adversity with dignity and incredible determination. By every definition of the word, Jake lived and died a hero.

Despite spending much of the last year in and out of Jefferson Hospital, Jake was fortunate to spend the last month at home surrounded by family, friends, laughter, and love. He died peacefully at his home, affectionately known as "the barn", in Phoenixville, PA.

Jake truly enjoyed all 32 years of his life and has many people to thank for making that possible. Topping the list are family and close survivors--father and stepmother, Bob and Lorraine Weeks, mother Tracy Weeks, brother Zachary Weeks, Eli Weeks and sister in law, Pamela, Weeks, his 4-legged best friend, Axle, paternal grandfather Paul Weeks, and many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends who have provided countless hours of love, laughter, and memories that will live on forever. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Betty Weeks and maternal grandparents Robert Rhykerd and Nancy Stover-Rhykerd.

Jake spent many of his early years in South Coventry, PA, tormenting everything from crayfish to his elderly neighbors. He also graced the sports scene and the ladies of both Phoenixville and Owen J. Roberts High Schools, where he was a stand out soccer player and swooner of hearts. Jake was also an avid thrill seeker. He had a passion for all things fast and dangerous, including motocross racing, diesel trucks, Volkswagen cars and motorcycles. He also had a love for the outdoors, spending many a weekend hunting, snowmobiling, camping and boating. Jake was fortunate enough to combine his passions and his talents into a career path. He operated "Jake the Rake Landscaping", providing employment and custom t-shirts to many a high school friend. Most recently, Jake was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Brubacher Excavating Company. Throughout his 5 year tenure, he made many friendships and connections, while mastering the operation of many types of equipment (as long as they were John Deere controls!)

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral ceremony at the Trinity E.C. Church, 66 South Limerick Road, Royersford, PA 19468 on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Wayne Houck. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday evening, June 23, 2017 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM, or at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM. Due to the number of people Jake has touched in his life, parking may be limited. Kindly try to carpool with other friends and family if possible. Details regarding a further celebration of Jake's life to follow.

The family would like to take this opportunity to give a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all members of "Team Weeks" who gave new meaning to the word "friend". You always reminded Jake that he never spent a day fighting alone. Your visits, rides, outings, meals, chats, and endless gestures of kindness reminded Jake and the family that Team Weeks is far stronger than any illness. For that, we will be forever grateful, as was Jake. While the loss is immeasurable, so is the love and memories left behind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Red Corner Benefit, 465 Red Corner Road, Douglassville, PA 19518. Red Corner Benefit is a non-profit charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for local children battling cancer.

--Call up a buddy to grab a drink and raise a toast to your favorite "Rake" story
