James D. Bernhardt of Malvern died suddenly Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2018.

He touched many lives and everyone who knew Jim loved him, human and animal alike. He was a kind man to everyone he touched.

Jim was born in Delaware Co. and attended St. Dorothy and Devon Prep. He graduated from the University of Tampa. He lived for years in Chester Springs, moving to Malvern to care for his father-in-law before he died. Jim worked for Haly Oil Co. in their sales department. He was happiest on his mower smoking his cigar, or tinkering with his vintage Mustang he named "Maggie".

He is terribly missed by his wife Margaret, his children Amanda, Andrew (wife Kristen), and step-son Andrew O'Brien; his best friend Evelyn; the true loves of his life, his grandchildren, Rachel Emily O'Brien, Alexis Giblin, Jack and Ethan Santamaria, Aidan James and Jolene Bernhardt, Gabbi and Aubrey Pomerantz; and his dogs Dozer, Emma, Pia, and Gracie.

I join all of nature, seen and unseen, known and unknown, in singing our love for you, forever and a day. Good bye my dear friend, you are so very missed.
