Obituary

James H. Darnell, age 75, husband of the late Joan D. (Clark) Darnell of Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 in the Belle Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Quakertown. Born on January 30, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Betty R. (Dye) and Howard D Darnell.

James received his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Baltimore and later his degree in Theology from the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. He had been employed as a rating specialist for the Department of Veteran Affairs.

SP4 James H. Darnell joined the Army on December 23, 1970. He served until being honorably discharged on December 22, 1976. Thank you for your service and dedication to our country.

James served the Lord, having been a former English teacher at the Emmaus Baptist Academy and later a member of Valley Forge Baptist.

James is survived by his sister, Joan, wife of Michael Newlin; and niece and nephew, Michelle and Michael; and children, Kelly N., wife of Alex Kupinski and Branson J., husband of Amanda Darnell; and six grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 am, at Valley Forge Baptist, 616 S. Trappe Road, Collegeville. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott E. Wendal. Friends will be received from 9:15 - 10:45 am at the Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in James' name to Valley Forge Baptist.
