J. Michael Fink, 59, of Phoenixville

James Michael "Mike" Fink, 59, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Philipsburg, PA on January 17, 1964, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Veronica R. "Ronnie" (Santangelo) Fink.

Mike graduated from Phoenixville Area High School in 1982. Over the years he worked in a variety of jobs-at a bakery, in retail, and as a truck driver delivering both lumber and horse feed. In 1997 he found his true calling as a maintenance technician. For nearly 21 years, he was a jack-of-all-trades doing painting, carpentry, plumbing and more at the Pickering Run Apartments in Phoenixville. In 2001 he accepted a promotion to Maintenance Supervisor at an apartment complex near Reading. He returned to the Pickering Run Apartments in 2004 to be closer to his mom, who was ill.

Mike loved being outdoors. He spent much of his childhood hiking and fishing along the banks of the Schuylkill River and the Valley Forge area. He enjoyed hunting, gold prospecting, camping in both cabins and tents. He was very fond of metal detecting and spent many hours searching for treasures in parks and at the beach. He loved taking his boat out on Hopewell Lake at French Creek State Park.

At home he enjoyed puttering in his wood shop, doing yard work, watching movies and football and baseball games on TV. He loved going for walks with his wife at several local parks. During cooler months he was happiest at home sitting in front of a crackling fire. Mike was a great cook, able to produce a complete Thanksgiving feast, was a master of the grill, and was famous for his super moist chocolate cake. An animal lover, Mike enjoyed caring for his cats Clyde, Jerry, Emma, Sammy, and Squeakers. In 2021, he and his wife had the memorable experience of fostering a stray cat and her four kittens. Most important to him were his children and grandchildren. He would start each day sending his kids a text to "have a good day" and kept track of all their activities.

Mike will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Arnold, his children John, Brianna, Joseph, and Christopher, his grandchildren Hazel, Winter Pearl, Kendall, and Leya, his siblings T. Mark Fink (Nicole), Matt Fink (Katie Hartman), Melissa Miller (Scott), Melinda Eck (Gene), brothers-in-law Mark Arnold and Steven Arnold, sisters-in-law Barbara Low and Karen Tartaglia (David), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Madeleine Arnold and his aunt, Rose Marie Santangelo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville on Saturday morning, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be conducted at a later date. Friends will be received Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
