James L. Janssen, age 80, husband of Catherine E. (Greenjack) Janssen, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at home. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Alice (Donnelly) and William Janssen.

Mr. Janssen attended St. Cyril Parish in Lansdowne for many years. A veteran, he served in the United States Air Force. He worked for and retired from Westinghouse Corporation as a programmer for 32 years, where he was a previous chairman for the United Way at the company. Mr. Janssen was an avid golfer, and enjoyed his vacation home on the golf course in Murphy, NC. He also lived in Marco Island, FL for ten years, where he became a real estate agent. Mr. Janssen enjoyed bowling and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Janssen is survived by two daughters, Patricia, wife of William Mecca of Morton, PA and Lynne, wife of Steven Brown, of Folsom, PA; four grandchildren, William III, Jacqueline, Kathleen, and Maria Lynne; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and many long time devoted friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Doherty and Alice Huyette and one brother, William Janssen Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at the St. Cyril of Alexandria R.C. Church, 153 Penn Boulevard, East Lansdowne, PA 19050 on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held privately. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul Castellani. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30-10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Bayada Hospice, 100 Schaeffer Street, Suite 4, Boyertown, PA 19512.
