James Daniel Jones, age 85, husband of the late Paula (Vanderslice) Jones, of Pottstown, PA, passed Monday, January 6, 2020 in the Keystone Villa at Douglassville. Born on August 4, 1934 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Barnes) Jones.

Mr. Jones was a graduate of North Coventry High School, class on 1951. He would go on to serve his country in the United States Army. Mr. Jones worked for and retired from PECO as a Power Dispatcher. He also volunteered as a custodian for the YWCA in Pottstown. He was a lifelong member of the Cedarville United Methodist Church, where he acted as Sexton for many years. He also attended the weekly Men's Breakfast at the church, and participated in the church bowling league for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching sports, as well as traveling to various sporting events with his family. He loved his pets throughout the years, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and sudoku puzzles.

Mr. Jones is survived by two children, Theodore A., husband of Jennifer Jones of North Brunswick, NJ and Natasha S. Jones of Pottstown, PA two grandchildren, Tyler P. and Penelope C. Jones; two siblings, Lorraine Winall and Paul Jones; sister-in-law, Barbara Burhans; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, William Burhans.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Cedarville United Methodist Church, 1092 Laurelwood Road, Pottstown, PA on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Sherry Lantz. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the YWCA Tri-County Area, 315 King Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.
