James P. Markert, 71, of Royersford, PA passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was the husband of Judy (Beckman) Markert.
Mr. Markert was born in Philadelphia to the late James T. and Anna Marie (Miller) Markert. He was a 1961 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. He was employed in shipping and receiving at Micro Coax, Limerick, PA.
A car enthusiast, he loved to travel to car shows and also showed his own 1973 Plymouth Fury. He loved Blues and Jazz music and building model cars and enjoyed viewing model railroad displays.
In addition to his wife of forty-two years, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth (Markert) Pritchett and her husband Brian, of Oakfield, NY; siblings: George R. Markert, husband of Linda (Mahoney), Claire A. Markert, Thomas J. Markert and Marie (Markert) Gebhard, wife of the late Donald, all of Royersford; grandchildren: Joshua and Sarah Pritchett. He was also predeceased by a brother, David C. Markert.
A visitation will be on Saturday, November 15, 2014 9:30-11 AM at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St., Royersford, PA, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Fire Company, 269 Green St., Royersford, PA 19468.
