James Albert Miller, age 90, husband of Mary (Bingaman) Miller, of formally of Chester Springs, PA passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 in the Wellington Terrace of Hershey's Mill, West Chester, PA. Born on November 1, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late James and Grace (Harman) Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Miller had recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Miller graduated from Altoona High School and would go on to receive his bachelor and master's degrees in Biochemistry from Penn State University. He developed a passion for the animal health pharmaceutical industry and went on to retire from, the now, GlaxoSmithKline after 27 years of dedicated research. While he had a passion for research it was his work ethic that identified him, a trait he was proud to have passed to his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Miller was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Phoenixville for over 30 years. He was also a founding board member of the PennDel Swim League for which he remained involved for many years. He was an avid sports fan, including each of the Philadelphia teams and a lifelong Penn State football fan. He attended many Penn State football games over the years with family! He also enjoyed gardening, especially in his early years of retirement.

Following retirement, Mr. Miller relished in the opportunity to attend every sporting event, musical, play, practice, or activity that his grandchildren were involved with. It was also in retirement that he and his wife enjoyed traveling the world, visiting many locations including Europe, Alaska, and Mexico. They had also traveled to attend the Olympics in LA and Atlanta, Ga.

Mr. Miller is survived by five children, Eric J., husband of Sandy Miller of Kimberton, PA; Paul B., husband of Mary Lou Miller of West Chester, PA; Scott A., husband of Daria Miller of Downingtown, PA; Kimberly M., wife of Scott Breidenbach of Royersford, PA, and Michele M. Seel of Blue Bell, PA. Additionally, James is survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great-granddaughters, Aaron J Miller, husband of Jacqui and father of Genevieve and Alexandra Miller; Kristen E. Greene, wife of Michael Greene; Josh P Miller; husband of Jessica Miller; Stephen J. Miller; husband of Erica Miller; Paul B. Miller; Nicholas J. Dastalfo, husband of Kristi and father of Marley Dastalfo; Alison M. O'Neill, wife of Kyle O'Neill; Evan J. Miller, wife of Taylor Miller; Kevin L. Dastalfo, husband of Jeanie and father of Blaire Dastalfo; Andrew D. Seel; Katie E. Miller; Mark S. Miller; and Ashley M. Seel. He is also survived by his brother, Edward R., husband of Pat Miller of Martinsburg, PA.

A private inurnment will take place in the St. John's Lutheran Church Columbarium, Phoenixville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the St. John's Lutheran Church, 355 St. John's Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
