James R. Murray, age 80, husband of Susan F. (Miller) Murray, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 in the Manatawny Manor. Born on October 11, 1939 in Beaver Falls, PA, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Alice M. (Rigby) Murray.

Mr. Murray was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School, and would go on to take correspondence courses at Penn State University. He proudly served in the United States Army. Mr. Murray worked as a roofer for Carter's Roofing in Phoenixville, and then would go on to work in the painting industry. He loved animals, especially his beloved Chow Chow. A Civil War and history buff, he enjoyed reading and collecting war artifacts.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Murray is survived by five children, Alice McKee, Susan, wife of Lucas Kovach, Charlotte La Pointe, Jamie, wife of Erich Kulp, and James K., husband of Stephanie Murray; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Murray.
