Obituary

James Patrick Lynch (Jake), age 30, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Born on September 2, 1992 in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was a son of Kevin and Elizabeth Lynch.

Jake graduated from Phoenixville High School, where he excelled as a student and athlete on the basketball and tennis teams. He furthered his education at Duquesne University, where his focus was on business and psychology. Ever since first grade, Jake dreamed of being a salesman like his father. His journey in sales began with the best selling lemonade in Ocean City, NJ. Jake had his entire family, including Grammy, working in the kitchen to keep up with the public's demand! With his natural skill and talent, Jake accomplished his childhood goal by succeeding in sales of solar and roofing. He even started his own company titled "Powered by the Son" referring to his faith in Jesus Christ.

As Jake pursued Christianity, he had a passion for sharing the love of the Gospel with others. His aunt Rosie "Roro" played a vital role in his pursuit for the truth as he matured in his relationship with the Lord. Jake also enjoyed spending time with family, especially reuniting with cousins at Thanksgiving and exchanging gifts at Christmas. Jake's one-of-a-kind sense of humor lit up any room he entered with his contagious laugh and captivating presence. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing with friends and family, playing tennis and ping pong with his Grammy, writing and performing his own music, keeping up with sports, and watching movies. He shared a love of local Philadelphia teams with his grandmother Bam, especially Villanova basketball. Jake's ambitious work ethic motivated him to master anything he set his mind to.

Jake was a cherished brother to two siblings, Kelly Ann (wife of Cesar Quant) and Kevin C. (husband of Annie Lynch), a caring uncle to Destiney and Eden Quant, a dear grandson to maternal grandparents, Anne Elizabeth Wetzel and the late Charles M. Wetzel II as well as paternal grandparents Willard N. Jr. and Rosemary (Flynn) Lynch who have passed on. Jake was also a loving nephew to paternal Aunts and Uncles, Willard N. III (husband of Mercy Lynch), Rosemary "Roro" Lynch, Philip (husband of Carolyn Lynch), and Michael (husband of Sheila Lynch); maternal Aunts and Uncles, Jane (wife of the late Clark Spargur) and Barbara (wife of Harold Rowland); his paternal Uncle and Aunt, Brian C. Lynch and Annie H. Lynch; and his maternal Uncle, Charles M. Wetzel III who have also passed on. He will be missed by many cousins. Jake's memory inspires us to pursue the truth, value time with family, and find joy in helping others.
