James R. "Reds" Mossie, age 70, husband of the late Stella (Hall) Jones Mossie, of Norristown, PA, died Friday afternoon in the Phoenixville Hospital.? Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Raymond Wells Mossie, Sr., and the late Erma (Orner) Mossie.? Mr. Mossie worked for many years at the Synthane - Taylor Company in Oaks.? He was a very active member and supporter of the Oaks Fire Company for over 44 years.? He was the banquet manager at the firehouse for over 40 years.???

Mr. Mossie is survived by seven children; James R., husband of Dawn Mossie, of Royersford, PA,? Barbara A., wife of Walter Mellinger, of Phoenixville, Gene H., husband of Lisa Mossie, of Oaks, PA, Regina M., wife of Raymond Greer, of Norristown,? Shirlyn L., wife of Craig Henry,? Ronald D., husband of Joan Jones, of Chesapeake, VA,? David W., husband of Nancy Jones, of King of Prussia, PA,? fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three sisters; Helen Rae, wife of William Grover, of Phoenixville, Peggy L., Finnefrock, of Spring City, Anne M., wife of Thomas Solliday, of New Tripoli, and many nieces and nephews.? Mr. Mossie was pre-deceased by two brothers; Raymond Mossie and Robert Mossie.????
