James E. Reed, 80, husband of Elizabeth (Scott) Reed, of Upper Providence, formerly Phoenixville, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008, in the Parkhouse Providence Pointe.? Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Reed.?
Mr. Reed was a graduate of North Catholic High School, and attended LaSalle University.? He was employed in purchasing at General Electric, where he traveled the United States negotiating prices, for 33 years, until his retirement.? He loved bowling, traveling to the casinos, and as an avid sports fan, he especially loved the Phillies and Eagles.??? ???

In addition to his loving wife of 28 years, Mr. Reed is survived by daughters Nancy, wife of Robert Mourar, of Parker Ford and Patricia Reed, of Pottstown, sons James E. Reed, Jr., of Ontario, CA and Thomas Reed, of Pottstown, step-daughters, Pauline, wife of Robert Donnelly, of Barto, Georgia, wife of the late Richard Conner, of Barto, and Elizabeth Nagle, of York, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.? He was preceded in death by step-son George W. Nagle. ?

Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 10:30 AM.? Officiating will be the Rev. Jack A. Mason.? Interment will follow in the Green Tree Cemetery, Oaks.?
