James Donald Shick, 88, husband of the late Mary (Klinger) Shick and the late Jean (Reber) Shick, of Spring City, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008, in the Tel-Hai Nursing Home, Honeybrook.? Born in East Nantmeal, he was a son of the late Arthur and Sara (Peck) Shick.?
Mr. Shick was a 1937 graduate of Warwick High School before serving in the United States Navy from 1944-1946, Stateside.? He was employed as a driver for Jones Motors until his 1976 retirement, was a member of Brownback U.C.C., enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, and was an avid hunter.? Don served as Worshipful Master in 1965 for the Mt. Pickering Lodge No. 446 F&AM.?
Mr. Shick is survived by daughter Dorothy, widow of Robert Keck, of Spring City, step-daughter Jeanette (Fahringer), wife of Robert Spallino, of Smethport, PA, five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and cousin Dale and Elsie Budd.? He was preceded in death by daughters Connie, wife of Larry Perdue, of East Coventry and Molly Shick, and step-son, Edward Fahringer.?
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Brownback U.C.C., 640 Ridge Road, Spring City, PA 19475, on Monday, August 11, 2008, at 11:30 AM, with a Masonic Service at 11 AM.? Officiating will be the Rev. Frank Lamson.? Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.? Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 AM at the Church.?
