James M. Weiser, 70, husband of Eleanor (Mazurek) Weiser, of Upper Providence, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.? Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John J. and Adalaide (Cramp) Weiser.

Mr. Weiser was a 1956 graduate of Neshaminy High School, and attended Penn State University where he played in the PSU Blue Band.? He retired from the former Atofina Chemicals Inc., in King of Prussia, in 2001 as a Senior Lab Technician.? A member of the First United Methodist Church in Phoenixville, he was very active and sang in the choir.? His love of music allowed him to play the tuba and sousaphone in two bands, the Lukens Band of Coatesville and the Tri-County Band of Feasterville.? He also loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren, especially awaiting the arrival of another grandson.?
In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, Mr. Weiser is survived by daughters Joy M., wife of Peter Welsh, of Wayne, and Dawn N., wife of Paul Zvarik, of Upper Providence, sister Carol J. (Dale) Habel of Holland, PA, grandchildren Joshua, Kathryn, Ethan, and Kyle Welsh and Olivia Zvarik, three nieces and one nephew.? He was preceded in death by brother Donald J. Weiser.?
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the First United Methodist Church, 865 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at 11 AM.? Officiating will be the Rev. Amy C. Smith.? Friends will be received from 9-11 AM.?
