James C. Woods, 70, of Royersford, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 , at the South Eastern Veteran's Center. He was the husband of Wilma J. (Shafer) Woods, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Phoenixville, Pa, he was the son of the late John F. and Marie (Hartzell ) Woods. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Spring-Ford High School. After graduation he spent three years in the Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. Jim worked for a tool and die company, was a welder, an over-head crane operator, tire builder and a bar tender prior to 1980, when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Prior to the onset of his disease, Jim enjoyed golfing, playing baseball, shooting darts and especially loved swimming in his pool with his kids. When he became wheel chair dependent, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, watching T.V., especially golf, Phillies baseball and he was an avid Notre Dame football fan. He also enjoyed listening to "Oldies" music, building jigsaw puzzles, playing games (poker, dominos and backgammon were his favorites), sitting on the front porch with a cup of tea, talking on the phone, and watching the antics of his pets.

Surviving with his wife, is a son, Joseph C. Woods, two daughters, Kerri L. Dearolf and Kristen L. Killoran, three grandchildren; Reilly Dearolf and Khloe and Kaiden Killoran, a brother, John F. Woods, and sister, JoAnn Graber, several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas E. Woods and Robert M. Woods, and a sister, MaryAnn Renninger.

A private memorial service will be held for the family at the Cattermole Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St., Royersford, with the Reverend Michael A. Renninger officiating. Condolences may be made and the video tribute may be viewed by visiting www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
