Jane A. Caniz, age 71, of Downingtown, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Born on November 26, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret Schaab.
Jane is survived by one son, Christopher, husband of Dana Caniz; and one brother-in-law, Rick Bobst and her niece Jamie Deckman. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Anna Bobst.
Jane was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, and her early life was spent in Philadelphia. PA. In 1985, she and her son Chris moved to Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania. Jane's love for her son was abundant and immeasurable and she was proud to have Chris attend school in the Conestoga School District then go onto Carnegie Mellon University & Villanova University where he received his advanced degree. Jane spent her over 30 year career as a Project Manager for Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia, PA until her retirement in 2015.
In 2003, Jane moved to Downingtown, PA to a house she loved. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she treasured decorating the house each year as well as baking her coveted Christmas cookies which people would ask for all year round.
Jane's friends were her family. She was endlessly supported by a group of lifelong friends; women who she was grateful to share all of life's best and worst moments with. Friendships like Jane's are rare, enviable and a lesson in loyalty and love. Hearing her tell stories to her friends in her distinct, sweet voice made everyone smile when they heard it and made her stories that much funnier. She will be missed by so many.
In her free time, Jane loved to travel with Las Vegas and Aruba being her favorite destinations. Jane was a great shopper and always gave the best gifts. Her generosity was vast and unforgettable.
In 2016, Jane welcomed her beloved dog Cooper, a Japanese Chin, into the family and she spoiled him to no end. Cooper will remain in the family and is currently enjoying his favorite past times, which are sunning on the porch and getting lots of scratches.
