Janet (Favinger) Long, 82, wife of the late Merle H. Long, of Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville. Born on January 22, 1937 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Baver) and Norman Favinger.
Janet had been employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years until her retirement. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Friendship Fire Co., Royersford, where she had been a member of the ladies auxiliary and a member of the ambulance crew. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she had served on and chaired many committees. She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. Janet enjoyed ceramics and counted cross stitch and was an avid reader.
Janet is survived by her children: Beth A., wife of the Rev. John Keretzman, of Cresco, PA and M. Douglas Long, of Royersford, PA; four grandchildren: Stephanie, wife of Tommy Rozinski, Matthew, husband of Sarah Long, Ian, husband of Becca Keretzman and Austin Keretzman; four great-grandchildren: Savannah, Andrew, Bradley and Bryce; sister: Bernice Mowrer, of Petersburg, PA; and grandpup: Tucker. In addition to her husband and parents, Janet was preceded in death by her step-mother: Mary Q. Favinger.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 3 PM, at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road, Spring City, PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Jacqueline A. Hines. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the East Coventry Mennonite Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-3 PM at the Church.
