Janet R. Molvie, age 93, wife of the late Jack A. Molvie, resident at Shannondell of Audubon, formerly a longtime resident of Kimberton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in The Meadows at Shannondell. Born on August 3, 1928 in Norristown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Wallace M. and Laura (Zeigler) Russell. Janet spent her early childhood years in Northbrook, Chester county before moving to Phoenixville.
Mrs. Molvie was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, and attended Oberlin College and Conservatory and Ursinus College. She was the longest active member of First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville, where she has attended since 1939. She was a vocalist, and sang in the church choir. She also participated with the Norristown Corale and supported the Community Music School in Trappe. Mrs. Molvie worked as a secretary for Pierce and Stevens in Phoenixville for many years. She was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed needlework. She and her husband loved to travel together, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Molvie is survived by two children, Janet M., wife of Donald Hasenmayer of Worcester, PA and Jay A., husband of Taren Molvie of Ocean City, NJ; four grandchildren, Eric, husband of Colleen Hasenmayer, Laura Hasenmayer, fianc?e of Brian Weiss, Shawn Molvie, and Justin Molvie; and one great-grandson, Henry Hasenmayer. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Williamson Russell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville, 865 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Young. Burial will be held privately in the Bradford Cemetery, Marshallton, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville at the address above, the Main Line Hospice, 240 N.
