Jean Carter, was born on June 18, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 23, 2019.

She was the loving wife of the late Herbert Anderson Carter. Jean is survived by three children: Robert (Katharine), Diane Depew (David) and Donald (Nancy). Her six grandchildren: Gail (Kevin Brown), Kimberly (Kenneth Rhoades), Amber, Michael, Andrew (Kelsey) and Steven. And eleven great-grandchildren: Justin, Nathan, Owen, Kaitlyn, Jonah, Gavin, Morgan, Hadley, Annie, Callie and Isaac.

Jean, known as Grammy to many, enjoyed shopping, eating out, playing card games, reading, and gardening. You would typically find her sitting at the table doing her crosswords or playing solitaire. For many years her circle of friends gathered monthly for 'card club', where they played Pokeno and "No one ever counted their pennies!" She enjoyed vacation time and traveled to many places through the years including Hawaii to visit her sister and brother-in-law, Nova Scotia and Branson, MO; always returning home with lots of pictures. Her love of the beach often found her at the Jersey shore.

She was a long time member of Southwestern Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. After moving to Phoenixville in 1990, she attended Calvary Bible Church. She was active with their Lamplighters Ministry for seniors, having served as a caller for many years.

Jean's final earthly home was at Parkhouse in Royersford, where she was well cared for and loved by the staff.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at Calvary Bible Church, 110 Valley Park Road, Phoenixville, on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 3:00. Officiating will be Pastor Jeffrey Harkins. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Jean may be made to the Lamplighters Ministry at Calvary Bible Church, 110 Valley Park Rd., Phoenixville, PA 19460.
