Jean J. Detwiler, a lifelong resident of Phoenixville, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Phoenixville Hospital at the age of 81.? She was the wife of William J. Detwiler.?


Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Tinney) Jeffers.? She was a member of the Phoenixville High School Class of 1944.?Mrs. Detwiler was employed as a bus driver for Werner Buses, the Cafeteria Department of Phoenixville School District and the North Coventry District Court, where she retired in 1996.

Jean was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Phoenixville, PA.? She was most devoted to her family.?


In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by four daughters: Beverly Elamma, and her husband Anton, of Spring Mount, Barbara Lee and her husband Michael, of Oaks, Virginia Long, and her husband Harry, of Broomall and Patricia Trainer, and her husband James, of Phoenixville, son; Thomas L. Detwiler, of Phoenixville, sister; Arlene Himes, widow of Harold, of Phoenixville, brother; H. Paul Jeffers, of New York City, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-granchildren.?


Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc,, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.? Calling time is from 9:00 to 10:00.? Burial will be in Morris Cemetery.? In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean's name to the memorial fund of St. John's Lutheran Church, 355 St. John's Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460.?
