Jeanette M. Jelus, age 86, wife of the late Ronald M. Jelus, of Collegeville, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA. Born on June 2, 1937 in Shamokin, PA, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Blaschak) Kulick.

Mrs. Jelus was proud of her Ukrainian heritage, and she grew up attending Ukrainian School before graduating from Shamokin High School. In the early 1950s, she was recruited to work under J. Edgar Hoover in the FBI in Washington, DC. She wed her high school sweetheart, and in the 1960s, she relocated to Philadelphia and moved to Secane, PA, where she raised her family until retirement. She retired after a successful 30 year career as a legal secretary for Brooks, Bradley & Kenney Law in Media, where she loved to work.

Dedicated to her family she was active at Our Lady of Fatima Christmas Bazaar, the Holy Cross CYO and Primos Secane Swim Club. She loved football, Polish/Ukrainian food of her heritage and would listen to the Polkas from Bridgeton every Saturday from 10-12. She was a devout Catholic and believed in prayer.

Following retirement, she and her husband built a home and moved to Collegeville, PA. where she became a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Phoenixville. Mrs. Jelus cherished spending time with her family, "Nettie Spaghetti" as she was called by her seven grandchildren, enjoyed watching them grow and excel in their respective activities. Along with her husband, she enjoyed socializing with neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Jelus is survived by two children, Ronna, wife of James Marenger of Collegeville, PA and Blaine, husband of Debbie Jelus of Broomall, PA; seven grandchildren, Taylor, wife of Tim McCloud, Devyn Marenger, Jarrod Marenger, Blake Jelus, Luke Jelus, Isabella Jelus, and Jude Jelus; one great-granddaughter, Mia James McCloud; sister-in-law, Carol, wife of Chris Glackin; a niece and nephew, Michael, husband of Tammy Kulick and Kathryn, wife of Jim Bendle; sister-in-law Joan, wife of the late Tony Benedict; and one nephew, Anthony Benedict. She was preceded in death by one brother, Peter Kulick; and one nephew, Marc Benedict.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at the St. Ann Chapel, 604 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Arechabala. Burial will take place in the Transfiguration Cemetery, 1400 Wabash Street, Coal Twp., PA 17866 on Thursday at 3:00 PM. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 10:45 am in the Chapel on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Transfiguration of our Lord Church, 303 N.
