Jeannette Albertine (McFarland) Rutter, of Phoenixville, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in her residence. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Lewis McFarland and Lillian (Diffenderfer) McFarland.

She was a 1945 graduate of Spring City High School. She was employed by Allstate Insurance Company for 30 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Spring City.

Jeannette was a Past Matron of Radiant Chapter No. 96, Order of the Eastern Star, and currently served as their Secretary. She also served the Order as District Deputy Grand Matron, District 25A in 1996-1997. She was President of the Past and Present Officers Association for District 25, O.E.S. in 1993. She was also a current member of the Temple Shrine #22, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Surviving are two sons, John Ernest Rutter and wife Sue Ellen (Zajdowicz) Rutter of Reading and William Leonard Rutter and wife Glenora (Weidman) Rutter of Birdsboro, grandchildren, Christopher, Corey (Jo Beth) and Alicia, and great grandchildren, Cody and Hayden. She was preceded in death by her former husband, William L. Rutter and her sister, Bertie Griffith.

A viewing will be held from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, February 25, 2011, at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford.
