Obituary

Jennifer Alison (Burns) Brown, age 40, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026 after a long battle with chronic illness. Born on May 15, 1985 in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Gracely) Burns and the late Mervin James Burns.

Jen was a devoted and nurturing mother to her daughter, Addison Grace Brown. As an account manager for Vanguard, Jen worked hard to create opportunities and security for Addie. At the core of Jen's motherhood was building a safe and loving home for Addie to grow up in. Preparing Addie a proper home cooked meal after a long day was an expression of love. Each year for Addie's birthday, Jen would cook Addie an extra special dinner, typically after the two enjoyed the day horseback riding. As Addie looks back on all the great memories she has with her mom, she should know that they were of the most meaningful moments of Jen's life.

Raised in the rolling hills of Kimberton, Jen was a lover of animals and nature from her earliest years. Romping through the Pickering Creek and its tributaries with her brothers, often searching for crayfish, was one of her fondest childhood memories. Getting to raise her daughter, Addie, by those same waters was an especially proud part of motherhood for Jen. Growing up in a house in the woods, she loved the local wildlife. Of course, no furry creatures held Jen's heart more than her many pets, especially her dogs Cody, Jesse, Missy, and Peyton and her cats Moe, Sadie, Ashes, and George.

Jen's kind and gentle spirit was infectious. Her warm and genuine laugh put others at ease, and she had a way of connecting with strangers as if they were lifelong friends. Jen was an amazingly resilient soul who found light in all situations. When others needed her, she always put herself aside, as nothing was more important than supporting her loved ones. Jen's spirit will continue to burn bright in the good nature of all those who were lucky enough to know and learn from her.

Jen is survived by her loving daughter, Addison Grace Brown; her mother, Betsy Burns; two brothers, David Burns (Amanda Morell) and James Burns (Julianne); many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her former husband, Christopher Brown. Jen is preceded in death by her father, Mervin Burns; her grandparents; and her best friend, Ashley McCaleb.

A private funeral service will be held for Jen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jen's name to the Brandywine Valley SPCA (https://bvspca.org/). Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville, PA. Condolences may be offered online at www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.
