Obituary

Jimmie E. Harrison, age 89, husband of the late Lois Ann (Emmrich) Harrison, of Phoenixville, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in his residence. Born on November 28, 1932 in Morocco Indiana, he was a son of the late Grace (Roush) and Herschel E Harrison.

Jimmie honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean war as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. He had been employed as a Production Supervisor in steel manufacturing for most of his life and held an Associate's degree in Steelmaking from Purdue University, but his true passions were photography and family. Jimmie was an award-winning, lifetime photographer and had been a member of the Lower Merion Camera Club and past Vice President of the America's First Zoo Camera Club at the Philadelphia Zoo. In his younger years, Jimmie was an avid bowler competing in bowling leagues with his wife.

Jimmie was member of the Morocco Lodge #372 FandAM and the Morocco American Legion Post 146. He was also a member of Lower Providence Baptist Church. Family was Jimmie's heart and soul. Although he may have been a bit stubborn, he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was a constant caretaker for his family.

Jimmie is survived by five daughters: Debra L., wife of the late Bruce Deutser, of Parkton, MD, Darcy S., wife of Andrew Vare, of Bivalve, MD, Cherie Beth, wife of the late Gerald Dempsey, Jr., of Phoenixville, Charnelle M. Harrison, partner of Ray McFarland, of Mt. Joy and Lynda J., wife of Robert Whiteman, of Collegeville; eleven grandchildren: Ian Keirsey, Kyle Keirsey, Sean Keirsey, Amanda Schmalbach, Kristin Marian, Lauren Kale, Dillon McGrath, Alyssa Dempsey, Ryan Dempsey, Tyler Trigalet and Wyatt Migliaccio; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one brother: Charles Harrison, of FL. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Jeffery S. Harrison and Lori A. Koch; and one brother: Francis Harrison.
