Joan M. Sippel, age 83, wife of the late James S. Sippel, of Phoenixville, and formerly of Hazleton, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Seasons Hospice.
Born on March 24, 1934 in Plains, PA, she was a daughter of Alexander MacLuskie and Charlotte (Roche) Avillon. Joan graduated from Hazleton High School, married Sterling soon after and moved to NJ where she raised her family of 4. She returned to Hazleton where she continued her role as caregiver to not only her children but to extended family as this was her moto, do what is needed for family with no regard for herself. She loved vacations with extended family in Cape Cod, Thanksgiving in MA, and Christmas in PA. The time, energy and resources she put into her family will be a cherished memory.
Mrs. Sippel is survived by her children: James A. (Cindy) Sippel of Malden, MA, Dianne M. (Stephen) Spragale of Phoenixville, PA; David J. (Rose) Sippel of McAdoo, PA and Joanne M. (James) Hanrahan of Lansdale, PA; two sisters: Peggy (Richard) Garrahan of Fairfax, VA, Bette Ann (James) Smith of Kelayres, PA; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by a sister, Maurita Numerick.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 7-8:30 pm and Friday, December 1, 2017 from 9-10:00 am at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main St. at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA. A Funeral Mass will follow on Friday at 10:30 am at St. Ann Chapel, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, PA. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
