Joan W. Wallace, wife of the late Sillman E. Wallace, of Royersford, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 in her home.
Born on January 14, 1933 in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Thomas and Eva (White) Watson. She was a graduate of Yorklyn Elementary School, Conrad High School and received her bachelor's degree in education from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. Mrs. Wallace worked as an Educator for over 28 years at the Phoenixville Junior High School. She also taught at Pueblo Community College in Durango, CO and San Juan College in Farmington, NM.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She volunteered at the Phoenixville Historical Society. She was a past state President of BPW/PA and was a member of the Chesmont BPW. Mrs. Wallace loved traveling. She traveled to every continent, except Antarctica, and visited every state in the United States. She also enjoyed reading, baking and doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by two brothers , Thomas E., husband of Elizabeth Watson, of Piney Flats, TN, and Robert R. Watson Sr., husband of Sharon Watson, of Macungie, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Royersford Baptist Church, 452 South Lewis Road, Royersford, Pennsylvania on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 1:30 pm. Friends will be received from 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm Monday at Royersford Baptist Church.
