John R. "Ricky" Brewer, age 48, of North Coventry township, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Mercy Suburban Hospital, Norristown. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of Ruth-Ellen (Belcher) Brewer of North Coventry and the late John P. Brewer.

Ricky was a graduate of the Phoenixville High School. He worked for the past 13 years as a greeter at the Exeter Walmart, where he was he was affectionately known as "Mr. Walmart".
He was a huge Philadelphia sports fan with the Phillies being his favorite. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and studied sports statistics.

Ricky was a beautiful person who emulated love and joy, never using his medical issues as an excuse, and always making others feel as they were the most important. He had a great relationship with his family, and was best buddies with his nephew, Ty.

He was a member of Shenkel United Church of Christ, had a strong faith in Christianity, and loved his church family.

In addition to his mother, Ricky is survived by two brothers, Timothy S. and Jeffrey P. Brewer, both of North Coventry; nephews and niece, Ty Brewer, of North Carolina, Devon Brewer, of Philadelphia, Shawn Daly, and Skylar Brewer; aunt, Wendy, wife of the late Jay Belcher of Phoenixville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and a niece, Ashley Brewer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Road, Pottstown.
