John Chuck, 86, husband of Theresa H. (Oleski) Chuck, of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Fedor and Catherine Chuck.
Mr. Chuck was a 1941 graduate of Phoenixville High School and served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and was employed as a machinist at AP DeSanno Co. for over 40 years.
Johnnie was also a member of the Friendship Fire House No. 2. Generous with his helpfulness, he would always lend a helping hand. He was a handyman who enjoyed yard work, carpentry and working on cars. "John," "Chucky," "Johnnie," "Dad," "Pop Pop," "Juan," and "Mr. Chuck" as he was known to many, will sadly be missed by all.
In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, John is survived by two daughters, Theresa Marie of Phoenixville, and Barbara Ann wife of Monte I. Catherman of Phoenixville, son Stanley Robert Chuck, of Phoenixville, and five grandchildren, Monte, Barbie, Krystal, Chelsea, and Mallory. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank John Chuck.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
A Panachida service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy in Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Fairview and St. Mary's Streets, Phoenixville at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery.
