John J. Davis' Obituary
John J. Davis Jr., age 73, husband of Barbara J. "Bonnie" (Price) Holloway, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on October 3, 1952 in Kingston, PA he was a son of the late Betty Louise (Puterbaugh) Davis Sr. and John J. Davis Sr.
John was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School in Lehman, PA. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences.
John began his career as a beloved pharmacist at Shields Pharmacy before taking a leap into ownership, operating the Wissahickon Pharmacy and the Overbrook Park Pharmacy. He would then continue his career working as a Pharmacist for the Miles Pharmacy in Schwenksville, Martins Drugs in Swarthmore, and the Penn Pharmacy in Reading before retiring.
John was an avid collector of trains and built several model railroads in his home. He loved muscle cars and was the proud owner of multiple 1966 Ford Mustangs. As an aviation enthusiast, he also earned his Private Pilot's License. He enjoyed golfing, cartoons and comics. He had a love for dogs and had many throughout the years. John also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his gardens and property. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by one step-daughter, Michele, wife of the late Andrew Piel; one granddaughter, Angelica Piel; four siblings, Betty Louise (Bob) Whalen, Kimberly Davis, Sand Davis, and Marc (Connie) Davis; nieces and nephews, Bryan, Shawn, Juliauna, Michael, Ashleigh, Marc and Cindy; and his great nephew and niece, Abel John and Harper Leane.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Montgomery County SPCA by visiting www.montgomerycountyspca.org/donate/ or to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County by visiting www.berksarl.org/donate.
