John Lauer, 69, of Canadensis, PA, passed away on December 24, 2022, at Lehigh Valley
Hospital-Pocono after a brief illness. He was the husband of Kathleen (Kane) Lauer, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. John loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed.
Born on August 12, 1953, in Phoenixville, PA, John was the son of the late John and Margaret (Brignola) Lauer. For most of his life he resided in Phoenixville, then relocated in his retirement to the Poconos in 2014.
John graduated from Phoenixville Area High School in 1971, and Norristown Barber School in 1973. His work ethic was a source of pride-working 11 years in West Goshen Barber Shop and then 22 years as sole proprietor in Phoenixville (Who's Next?).
In his retirement years, John enjoyed spectator sports, pickleball, talking politics, biking, and vacations on Florida's gulf coast. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. His quick wit and joke telling was legendary. He had a savant memory for songs/lyrics, and would often pen political parodies to the delight friends and family.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by sons, Eric (Nina), Keith, and Josh (Kim); grandchildren, Alyssa, Adelyn, and Walter; sibling, Mark; and his cousin, Barbara Hashiguchi. Over the years, he enjoyed milestones and holidays with extended family members.
