John J. Madison, 66, of Phoenixville, formerly Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Anne E. (Maurizzi) and John J. Madison.

John had been employed for 40 years in real estate and title insurance. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, loved cooking and was an excellent chef. He was a big Phillies fan and recently reminisced about Connie Mack Stadium. John also loved Ocean City where he spent his childhood summers as a lifeguard. He was also a fan of music especially Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand and musicals. He and his daughter's favorite was Phantom of the Opera. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. Most importantly, he was a loving father and grandfather whose grandchildren were the light of his world. He lived with them for the past four and a half years and enjoyed every aspect of their lives, from watching them learn to walk to eventually playing basketball, baseball and running track. He never missed one recital, one game or one school event they were involved in. Everyone knew Sean and Maura's "grandpop". He was a constant and continuous loving presence in their lives.

John is survived by his daughter, Erin M., wife of John Gallagher, of Phoenixville; grandchildren, Sean and Maura Gallagher; siblings, Marie Fish of Lancaster, Barry Madison of Philadelphia, Dennis Madison, of Colorado, Kevin Madison, of Langhorne, and Christopher Madison, of Langhorne; former wife and friend, Maureen Madison, of Phoenixville; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville. Officiating will be the Rev. John J. Newns. Inurnment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to Holy Family School, 221 Third Avenue, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
