John S. Keenan, Jr., age 84, husband of Peggy Ann (Lewis) Keenan, of Phoenixville, PA, died Sunday afternoon, January 3, 2010 in the Golden Living Center, Phoenixville, PA. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late John S., and Edna (Geiser) Keenan. He was a graduate of the Phoenixville High School and the Millersville University. A veteran, he served as a medic for the 216th General Hospital for the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Keenen was a teacher in the Phoenixville School District for over 25 years before retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Phoenix Lodge #75, The Knights Templar Jerusalem Commandery, Council Chapter #198, The Red Cross of Constantine, Rajah Temple, Brandywine Shrine, High Twelve, Spring City Forest Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was also a member of the Spring City American Legion. Mr. Keenan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville, where he was a Church Elder. He enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, Mr. Keenan is survived by One Son; John S., husband of Linda (Gray) Keenan, of Phoenixville, One Granddaughter; Jessica Lynn Keenan. Mr. Keenan was pre-deceased by Two Sisters; Mina and Shirley Keenan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell - Ennis - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 10:30AM. Officiating will be the Rev. David C. McCabe. Burial will be in the Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA. Friends will be received on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM or on Friday from 10 - 10:30AM at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the First Presbyterian Church, 145 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 or to the Asera Care Hospice, 690 Stockton Drive, Exton, PA 19341.
