Obituary

John Vieldhouse, 87 of Warwick Township, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 28, 2010 at his home peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fair Lawn, NJ on September 13, 1922, to James Henry Vieldhouse and Mary (Groeneberg) Vieldhouse, (formerly known as Jacobus Hendrikus Veldhuizen and Mary (Groeneberg) Veldhuizen) originally of the Netherlands and late of Fair Lawn NJ. He was the youngest of seven children. Four brothers Orie, husband of Henrietta (Boonstra)Vieldhouse, Richard, husband of Martha (Hutting)Fieldhouse, James husband of Harriet (Steiginga)Vieldhouse, and Neil husband of Marie (Leenher)Vieldhouse and two sisters Sadie (Vieldhouse) wife of William Laauwe, Barbara (Vieldhouse) wife of Peter De Jong.

John Vieldhouse was a graduate of Paterson Technical School, served in the United States Army during World War II, attended Niagara University where he studied mechanical drafting and was a graduate of the National Institute of Drycleaning in Washington, D.C.

John's career in the laundry and drycleaning industry spanned six decades. He was employed as Sales Engineer for Colton Machinery Co, Irvington, NJ, a field engineer for Emery Industries, Sanitone Division, Cincinnati, Ohio, and for Allied Chemical and Dye Company. He was also an entrepreneur having started several businesses including three drycleaning plants. In 1961 Mr. Vieldhouse founded Vieldhouse Machinery Company Inc. a full service laundry and drycleaning machinery distributorship that sold, installed and serviced laundry and drycleaning equipment in as many as seven states and employing up to 41-people until its closing in 2004.

Mr. Vieldhouse was preceded in his passing by his loving wife of 67-years Audrey E. (Pritchard) Vieldhouse, age 84, who passed away May 13, 2010. Mr. Vieldhouse is survived by three sons, Douglas J., husband of Terri (Leischner) Vieldhouse, of Elverson, PA, Kenneth J. Vieldhouse, of Geigertown, PA, Thomas N. husband of Linda (Huyett) Vieldhouse, of Elverson, PA, one daughter; Joan E. Vieldhouse, of Morgantown, ten Grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews. He was a member of Ebenezer Bible Chapel, Elverson, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday morning, June 5, 2010 at 11:00AM. Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00AM Saturday at the funeral home.
