John W. Wartman Jr., 82, husband of Dorothy M. (Knipe) Wartman, of Allentown, formerly West Chester, passed away on Tuesday, February 08, 2011, in the Phoebe Home. Born in Sanatoga, he was the son of the late John W. Sr. and Mary Catherine (Babel) Wartman.

Mr. Wartman was employed for many years as a painter for the John H. Benner Painting Company. He was a former member of the West Chester Church of the Nazarene, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Wesleyan Christian Church in Pottstown. He was a big baseball fan, especially of the Phillies and Braves.

In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Wartman is survived by two sons: John C. husband of Brenda Wartman of Downingtown, and Richard G. Wartman of Whitehall; and two grandchildren: Stephen and Katherine Wartman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Daniel H. Gerber officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Parker Ford.
