Joseph A. Ciccitto, age 55, husband of Maryann T. (Coughlin) Ciccitto, of Upper Providence Township, PA, died suddenly of a heart attack on Tuesday morning, November 27, 2007,? while hunting with his son in Wyoming County, PA.? Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Ciccitto was the son of the late Alice (Dilonardo) Ciccitto, who died during his birth, and the late, Francis P. Ciccitto, whose wife is surviving, Edna (Hulse) Ciccitto, of Upper Frederick, PA.? Mr. Ciccitto was admitted to the Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Bars in 1978, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 1981 and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, in 1988. His educational background includes a J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1978 and a B.A. in Psychology from LaSalle University. He is a member of the Montgomery County and the Pennsylvania Bar Associations.? Mr. Ciccitto served as a public defender, handling trial representation of indigent defendants. As former assistant public defender for Montgomery County, he handled major office litigation.? He was a? partner in the practice of Keenan, Ciccitto and Associates in Collegeville for over 20 years.?

Mr. Ciccitto held membership in several organizations, including counsel to the Upper Providence Township Municipal Authority, Chairman of the Board of View for Montgomery County, counsel to the Perkiomen Valley Academy, former Chairman of the St. Eleanor School Capital Campaign, member of the Montgomery County Bar Association Bench Bar Committee, the Knights of Columbus (Fourth Degree Knight), the Sons of Italy, and past President of the Collegeville-Trappe United Fund Board of Directors.?

In addition to his wife of 29 years, and Mother Edna, Mr. Ciccitto is survived by one son; Francis J., husband of Jennifer L. (Obniski) Ciccitto, of Linfield, PA, two daughters; Jennifer A. and Regina M. Ciccitto, both at home in Upper Providence, one brother; Albert Ciccitto, four sisters; Katherine Smith, Patricia Wingert, Frances Freed, Denise Cotteta, and many nieces and nephews.???

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the St. Eleanor R.C. Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA on Saturday morning, December 1, 2007 at 10AM.? Burial will be in the Holy Sepeulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.? Friends will be received from 6:00 - 9:00 Friday evening, or from 8:45 - 9:45AM Saturday morning at the Church.?
