Joseph "Doc" Dougherty, age 72, passed away on November 27, 2024 in Phoenixville, PA.

Joe was born on February 2, 1952, was raised in Norristown, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School. He went on to Kings College where he received a degree in Data Processing.

Joe's successful career as a Sales Account Executive at Shared Medical Systems was highlighted by him receiving the prestigious "100% Club Award" numerous times during his tenure.

Joe's life long passion for physical activity was one that took him around the world and expanded his social circle. From early morning rows on the Schuylkill as a member of the Fairmont Rowing Association, to being dominant on the rugby pitch which led to his induction in the Philly-Whitemarsh Rugby Club Hall of Fame in 2007, to a couple of marathons, to being a member of the New York Athletic Club while working in Manhattan, Joe was always ready to train and up for a challenge. Most recently, he was easily found most mornings at the Phoenixville YMCA, lifting, swimming, and stair climbing.

With a wit as sharp as it was quick, Joe Doc could turn any moment into a laugh, leaving us with memories and stories that will last even though he is now gone.

Joe is survived by his wife, Eileen, his daughters, Meghan (Behn) Cherenack and Mercedes (Matthew) Varady, his grandchildren, Quinn, Colin, Gunnar and Teagan, and his sisters, Kathleen Dougherty and Mary Pat Kielinski.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at St. Ann's Chapel, 604 Main St. Phoenixville, PA. 19460, Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11 am.
