Joseph W. Duddy, Jr., 72, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 22, 2011, in Rittenhouse Pine Center, Norristown, PA, following a brief illness. Duddy, a Norristown native, lived most of his life in Montgomery County except for a stint in the U.S. Air Force. He most recently worked for Montgomery County as a security guard working in the courthouse, library and the former Sacred Heart Hospital. He was a 1957 graduate of Norristown High School and a member of the Norristown Maennerchor Club.
Duddy was the son of the late Joseph W. Duddy, Sr., and Gertrude Mary (Bolger) Duddy. He is survived by one sister, Gertrude Ferenchak of Tucson, Ariz., and two brothers, Bernard of Poway, Calif., and David of Springfield, Pa. He also is survived by numerous nephews and nieces in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Washington, and California. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terrance and John.
