Joseph F. McGeeney III, age 87, of Mont Clare, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born in Norristown, he was the son of Viola "Olls" (Wacker) and Joseph F. McGeeney II.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Vianna "Sam" McGeeney, his children, Stacie Tucker, Lynne (David) Arnott, Dayna (Leah) McGeeney, his grandchildren, Daniel (Sarah) Tucker, Devon (Lauren) Tucker, Ben (Cindy) Arnott, Elizabeth (Tony) Arnott, Clare (Sanjay) Arnott, and five great-grandchildren, his brother William McGeeney and family, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Viola McGeeney, and his sister Viola "Micki" Wilson.

Joe's strong faith guided his life and devotion to his family and friends. He and Sam spent 65 years of marriage together dedicated to their family near and far. They traveled the world together, making friends wherever they went. Joe's compassion, kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He had an easy-going personality and heart of gold; he loved deeply and was loved by all who met him.

Born and raised in Norristown, Joe attended St Patrick's High School before graduating in Bishop Kendrick High School's first graduating class. He began his career in computer programing in the late 1950s with James Lees Carpets, moving into computer sales and marketing with Sperry/Unisys Corp. Unisys gave him the opportunity to indulge his love of travel. Joe retired from Unisys Corp. in 2000. Some of Joe's favorite pastimes included traveling with family for fun and work, being near water whether at the beach or on a boat, and enjoying good food and wine with dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at St. Ann Chapel, 604 S Main St, Phoenixville, PA 19460, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11 AM. Officiating will be Fr. Newns. Burial will be held Privately. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at St. Ann Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Foundation at https://www.parkinsons.org.
