Joseph W. Holman, Jr., President of Lawn & Golf Supply Co., Inc., Phoenixville, PA, died Saturday, May 24, in Paoli Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 81.
Born March 20, 1933, to the late Joseph W. and C. Alberta (Dick) Holman, he graduated from Phoenixville High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Union League, Aronimink Golf Club, Merion Cricket, and Radnor Hunt Club.
Holman was preceded in death by his wife, Kay (Harper) Holman, and a brother, Richard. Survivors include a sister, Bette, wife of Robert E. Mooney, Reading, PA; a brother, Robert D., Chester Springs; two step-brothers, James Carville, Exton, and Richard Carville, Portland, OR; and four step-children: John Harper, Coatesville; Jay Harper, San Francisco; Caroline Harper, Baltimore; and Katherine, wife of Patrick Corcoran, Malvern.
A memorial service and reception will be held June 5th at 5:00 PM at Radnor Hunt Club, Malvern, with private burial at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paoli Hospital, 255 W. Lancaster Avenue, Paoli, PA 19301.
