Obituary

Joseph R. Kelemen, 86, husband of Pauline A. (Kulikowski) Kelemen, of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Cedar Hollow, he was a son of the late Simon and Julia (Kovach) Kelemen.

Mr. Kelemen was a 1940 graduate of Tredyffrin Easttown High School. He attained the rank of Lieutenant as a Pilot (Flight Officer) in the United States Army Air Forces, during World War II, and received the World War II Victory Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon. He was employed at the former Synthane Taylor Corp., in Betzwood, for 38 years until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Kelemen enjoyed sports, especially the Philadelphia Phillies.

In addition to his loving wife of 50 years, Mr. Kelemen is survived by his daughter, Dr. Robyne Kelemen and grandson, Aaron, of New Britain, sister Viola Pintkowski, of Phoenixville, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty and Margaret and six brothers, Simon, Emil, Ernest, Gazie, Steven, and James.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 8:00 p.m., with the Rev. John J. Newns officiating. Friends will be received from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The interment service will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton, on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m..
